Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They inspect services providing education and skills for learners of all ages. They also inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people. Ofsted will observe nursery practice, talk with parents to gauge their views on the nursery and talk with nursery staff to understand their knowledge. Ofsted aims to come in every 3-6 years.

- The well-considered curriculum supports all children to build on their prior knowledge and skills. Staff use their knowledge of children to plan exciting activities that stretch and challenge children's learning and development. Children work through problems, such as how much water to add to sand to make it 'mouldable'.
- Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported very well. Leaders and staff have ensured that children receive personalised support that meets their individual needs. Staff know the children incredibly well and tailor their teaching to support every child to make the progress they are capable of. Effective observation and assessment identify what children already know and can do. This helps staff plan appropriate next steps in children's learning that link to children's interests and ideas.
- Parents speak very highly of the nursery and staff. They comment that they feel valued and supported. Parents are delighted by the range of opportunities that children have. They say that communication is excellent and the nursery helps them to network with other families and access support.

- Children arrive at this nursery happy and excited to start their day. There is a warm, welcoming atmosphere, with hugs and cuddles readily available from the staff. Children very quickly select what they want to do. Staff provide a range of activities and experiences for children to choose from.
- The provider has a well-structured curriculum in place, which is designed to support children's personal, social and emotional development and has a clear focus on preparing them for their next stage of development. Older children benefit from targeted support to prepare them for their move to school. Staff use photos of classrooms, books about their teachers and real school uniforms to help children understand and feel confident about the transition.
- Parents are extremely complimentary about the care and education their children receive. They feel well informed about their child's experiences and value the advice they receive on how to support learning at home. Parents appreciate opportunities to join their children in nursery activities and praise the open-door policy that enables ongoing communication with key staff, alongside the planned regular meetings.
