Parents Information

How will you make sure my child settles into the Nursery well?

We offer free settling in sessions before your child starts Nursery. To begin with, you can spend time in the Nursery with your child. You can then leave them for short periods of time, until they are familiar with the Nursery and our routines.

How does the Nursery tell us what our children have been doing?

At Starjumps Nursery, parents/carers can access an online app called Famly App. Famly App builds a very special record of a child’s experiences, development and learning journey through their early years using photos and videos. The Famly App then works seamlessly to enable these memories to be kept as a permanent record of each child’s unique journey. Parents or carers are able to view their child’s progress, the activities provided for them, and how much fun they’re having, whilst also uploading their own comments and media.

What feedback do you give about how our child has been throughout the day?

When you come to pick your child up at the end of the day, you will be given a verbal update by a member of staff in your child’s room as to how they got on that day. They will tell you what they ate and how much, if they had a sleep and for how long and what activities they experienced during the day.

When children are very young, we understand how important it is for you know exactly when your child was last fed and slept. For this reason, we keep a Daily Diary for children in our Baby Room. This information will be fed back to you at the end of their session. We also use social media, such as Facebook and Instagram to share the children’s weekly activities and learning and also to keep you up to date with the latest nursery news and events.

Testimonials

We couldn't recommend Starjumps more to prospective parents. The way in which all the staff look after the children is second to none. They really make each child feel so special and I don't think I've seen a child come out unhappy at the end of the day.

The way in which all staff have impacted my son is incredible. My son's key worker, Emma, is a phenomenal key worker who has given my son so much confidence in all that he does. She cares for him so well and I feel so lucky to be able to go to work and know my child is a priority.

My son has developed in his physical abilities and also his speech. They work with him to get the most out of him and support him with things that he loves, such as singing and dancing and playing in the garden. My son is definitely growing up in the best environment and I couldn't recommend the team enough.

We have been at Starjumps nursery for 2 years now. We have our eldest daughter in preschool and our youngest being in the baby room so we have experienced the different rooms.

What we love about Starjumps is that the staff always have time for the children and parents. Their days are always so busy learning a new topic or just being creative children. The staff put so much thought into everything they do and you can see that they love being around the children. We feel reassured that our children are looked after well.

We get regular updates throughout the day with pictures which is so lovely. Our daughter talks about nursery positively and is always so happy when it’s a nursery day. She doesn’t only see Sophie, Chelsea and the team as her teachers, but more like family. She speaks about them so fondly. Starjumps nursery will always be a special place to us and I am so happy we chose them.

After visiting most of the nurseries in the area, I was instantly struck by how happy and settled the children were at Starjumps Nursery. That, coupled with the flexibility they offered, really cemented my decision. Since joining, my daughter has been so happy there — the staff have been absolutely wonderful in helping her settle in and thrive. I couldn’t be happier with the care and support she’s received.
